The Science of PFAS in Marlborough, MA

Rock Vitale, CEAC, will be presenting Performing Quantitative PFAS Analysis by Speciated and Non-Speciated Methods in Complex Matrices – Understanding and Addressing the Challenges from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on April 4, 2024.

This presentation will discuss the advantages, disadvantages, and matrix challenges associated with targeted and non-targeted PFAS analyses.

USWAG Advanced PCB Workshop 2024 in Atlanta, GA

David Blye, CEAC, will present PCB Disposal Rule: Changes to the Extraction and Analytical Methods on April 10, 2024 from 1:15 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) (Part 761 of CFR Title 40) regulates PCB cleanup and disposal, specifying extraction and analytical methods. Outdated techniques prompted EPA’s proposed rulemaking in October 2021 to update and expand methods. Finalized in August 2023, these changes, effective February 2, 2024, improve PCB waste characterization and cleanup verification. Mr. Blye’s presentation will review the PCB extraction methods, analytical determinative methods, and the PCB methods proposed, but not added to Part 761.

Food & Beverage Environmental Conference in Miramar Beach, FL

Say hello to Ann Marie Gathright who is Chairing the FBEC Community Event taking place on April18, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. This event during the FBEC is historically an opportunity for attendees to join together and give back through a local service project that supports networking. FBEC is -partnering with Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles (FOSWST) for their 2024 Community Event! Participants will head to Hotel Effie’s Beach to participate in a beach walk clean up and learn more about how their efforts have helped support FOSWST’s mission and protect the local sea turtles.
