Testing the Waters in the Virtual World

In early March, I began my article Environmental Standards will be participating in over 90 conferences this year. Our professionals present, exhibit, and attend conferences …   – WOW, how things have changed! 

We did attend 13 conferences in the first quarter of 2020 before the shutdown.  The other conferences we had planned on attending have canceled, postponed, or gone virtual. Still many have not made a decision yet.

We know conferences will be back, eventually. New guidelines released by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) aim to set the stage for a safe return of conferences. While its guidelines are broad, the British events company, Informa, has collaborated with trade show industry leaders to develop conference guidelines containing 10 key commitments regarding hygiene measures and practices.

While we wait for that time when we can safely congregate again, like many companies, we are testing the waters in the virtual world. On July 2, 2020 we will be presenting at the USWAG CCR Workshop, and on July 27, 2020, we are sponsoring a USWAG Virtual Happy Hour, where the first round is on us!

On July 21-22, 2020, David Blye will be a participate in a 60-minute panel on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at the BCONE Virtual Conference.

August 14, 2020, David Gratson will be presenting Public and Private Environmental Laboratory Collaboration for Oil and Gas Regulatory and Industry Dissolved Gas Methodology Study at the NEMC virtual conference. 

Virtually visit our exhibit at the AiCHE Spring Meeting, August 17-21, 2020, where we will  interact live and you can enter to win a bottle of our Woodford Reserve.

Nothing will replace seeing our clients and friends at conferences and having the industry experts within our company share their knowledge through presentations. But until then, we look forward to seeing your in the virtual world.
