Emergency Response QA and Oversight Program
When an environmental disaster strikes, the immediate reaction is to engage many “players” from remediation firms, environmental consulting firms, and environmental laboratories to initiate remediation and assess the damage to natural resources. Often, due to the urgency of the response, new procedures and new contracts that are a-typical of non-emergency environmental operations are required. The sheer volume of environmental samples and data gathered is overwhelming and challenges quality systems in place. By engaging Environmental Standards very early in an emergency, our clients can be assured that quality is maintained from the very beginning and that defensible data - from which emergency response decisions are made - are readily shared with stakeholders during the cleanup. Environmental Standards' comprehensive emergency response QA and Oversight Program includes:

  • Establish Repository for All Analytical Data
  • Establish Sampling Procedures for All Samplers (All Matrices)
  • Separate Ourselves From Those Performing Sampling Work – We Are Independent
  • Identify and Contract Analytical Laboratories
  • Audit Performance of Laboratories
  • Create Web-Based Data Sharing With Stakeholders
  • Independent Review of Data
  • War Room Support
  • Training for Samplers
  • Sampling/Field Oversight
  • Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP)
  • Automate Chain-of-Custody (COC)
  • Community Relations/Public Meeting Support
  • Meet With Regulatory Agencies and Project Stakeholders
