Mr. Renninger, who began his career in the environmental and energy fields in 1987, is a Partner at Environmental Standards, Inc. in charge of Business Development. Environmental Standards is a niche environmental consulting firm that provides quality assurance oversight to Fortune 1000 companies in the oil and gas, utility, chemical, rail, mining, and other heavy manufacturing industries.
Mr. Renninger’s responsibilities include managing a multi-region sales and marketing team and setting the firm’s strategic business direction. In this role, Kevin and his team are charged with continuously opening new markets while expanding the firm’s niche services in existing markets. Further, as Vice President, Kevin works with his fellow Partners to locate new regional offices and assist in the due diligence of acquisition targets.
Since joining the firm in 2003, Mr. Renninger has played an instrumental role in the dramatic growth of Environmental Standards. From 2003 to present, the firm has quadrupled the number of regional offices, tripled its revenue, and doubled the number of professional staff. The success and growth of the firm has established Environmental Standards as the premier environmental quality assurance oversight firm in the nation. Most recently, Mr. Renninger and his team have launched an Emergency Response Quality Assurance Oversight Program to leverage knowledge gained while working in the Incident Command Centers in response to our nation’s two largest environmental incidents.
Upon receiving his engineering degree and just prior to joining Environmental Standards, Mr. Renninger worked his way through the ranks of a multi-national energy company. Beginning his career as an energy design engineer, Kevin developed leading fuel technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of the company’s Generation LLC. After participating in an employee exchange with a Japanese energy company, Mr. Renninger shifted his focus to energy conservation, energy services, and retail energy commodity sales – all with newly created LLCs within the energy company. It was in these later roles during the height of US energy deregulation where Kevin developed his passion for growing new business and markets.
Mr. Renninger holds a Professional Engineering License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and was certified by the Association of Energy Engineers as an Energy Manager.
Mr. Renninger received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 1987 where he graduated with High Distinction, and has since completed several MBA level courses at Lehigh University.
