Senior Environmental Geoscientist

The company has enjoyed long-term relationships with Fortune 500 companies and continues to provide high-quality environmental consulting services using emerging science and technologies.  Environmental Standards is opening a new office in Houston, Texas at the end of 2011 and has a position available for a senior environmental geoscientist at this new location.

This is a unique “ground-floor” opportunity to further develop, implement and manage the firm’s successful chemistry, geosciences and IT consulting practice in our Houston, Texas office.  The ideal candidate will learn and participate in the firm’s existing national chemistry, geosciences and IT consulting practices, actively solicit new clients/projects, and assist in recruiting while leading the management of the Houston operations. The management role in the Houston office is tracked to become part of the company’s executive management team.

Required qualifications:

• Degree in Geosciences – M.S. preferred
• Extensive experience in conducting environmental site assessments
• Experience in quality assurance oversight associated with multi-media sampling activities
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with US EPA/TCEQ
• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and enforcing compliance of multi-media field sampling plans and standard operating procedures
• Local to the Houston, Texas area
• 15+ years of  environmental consulting/field oversight experience
• Strong technical ability
• Project management skills
